Dear parents/carers,
It is great that schools are back to a near normal state with children mostly attending each
day. Teachers are not required to do both face to face and support home learning, so the
stress has been reduced. The kids have returned to school smoothly. The fact that they
need to come into class and unpack their bags has created a sense of growing
independence, and that is great to see.
A reminder that you now need a medical certificate to continue home schooling. If you need
to keep your child at home for medical reasons, we need to work with you to apply for our
School of Special Educational Needs Medical so that you can access materials and
support. Please discuss this with your site deputy.
Some families do not have access to home internet and the Government recognises that
this makes accessing health and other services difficult. The National Broadband Network
(NBN) is providing a COVID-19 Education Assistance Package. NBN is providing funding
to assist phone and internet providers to support low-income family households with schoolaged
children, who do not currently have an active NBN connection at home. This
funding will help phone and internet providers create more affordable offers to connect
eligible families during Term 2.
If you want to take advantage of this offer, you can contact internet providers (not NBN
directly) and ask for special COVID-19 deals. The participating provider will help determine
if you are eligible for assistance. It is important you read the terms and conditions of the
offers carefully.
Once again, thanks for your support at these changing times. I hope you are enjoying our
recent changes for travel, eating out and visiting friends.
If you have any questions, please to contact me on 9407 3050 or via the school email
address. A copy of the letter; Term 2 parent letter from Principal 19 May
