Year 1

‘Let’s Talk DLD’

Focus: Developmental Language Disorder and supporting your child

This program facilitates parent knowledge and understanding of communication and Developmental Language Disorder, and supports parents in understanding their child’s strengths and areas of difficulties. It also focuses on increasing parent understanding of ways to support their child, including protective factors to reduce the impact of language difficulties, in addition to supporting language and communication. The program is designed to up-skill and empower parents, supporting them to be confident advocates for their child as they transition to mainstream schooling in the next school year.

The Let’s Talk DLD program includes five sessions which are run weekly or fortnightly, in Term 3. The sessions are presented in-person.
