Two children in the average classroom have DLD.
The speech pathologists and staff at the WCLDC will be acknowledging – DLD Awareness Day on Friday 15th October. Staff and students are encouraged to wear purple to school. This year the Graham Farmer Freeway will be lit up purple on Friday night 15th October – other venues still to be confirmed.
Previous years the City of Perth has lit up several structures around the city to mark DLD Awareness Day – The Bell Tower, Yagan Square, Optus Stadium & Matagarup Bridge, the Narrows Bridge.
The WCLDC Staff will be taking part in a “Matagarup Bridge climb” at 6.30pm, on Thursday 14th October. Climbing the bridge while lit up purple for the start of DLD Awareness Day will be lots of fun for the staff members taking part.
