Pre-primary and Kindy teachers are currently meeting with parents/carers at case conferences.  This is an important opportunity for the teacher to speak with you about your child’s progress and levels of achievement. Please ensure that you attend this meeting at your allocated time.  Mrs Priestley or I will attend the case conference along with the teacher. We look forward to talking with you. Please note; that the Year 1 case conferences will be in Term 4.

Students have been enthusiastically practising running and team games for the Athletics Carnival this week. Staff are so proud of their efforts. I would like to mention a special thank you to Mrs Esther Memik, Miss Natasha Nguyen and Mrs Karen Holmes for their organisation leading up to the day. We are hoping the rain holds off so we can enjoy a successful carnival morning!

Pre-primary and Year 1 classes are very much looking forward to their Edu-Dance performance on Monday 20th September. Please see the previous note sent home for details about the concert and see your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the costume requirements.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all families a safe and restful term break coming up.  Enjoy the time with your children and the lovely spring weather.

Poseidon & Quinns Beach Deputy News

It has been a fabulous busy term. So much has been happening and it has flown by. I was lucky enough to go along to the excursion with the Poseidon and Padbury year 1 students to Cockman House and the Wanneroo Museum. It was a fantastic day, and we were lucky enough to have a relatively rain free day! Some of my favourite things from the day were exploring Cockman House and finding out the history of John Cockman and his lovely, but I am sure, very hardworking and busy wife Mary Anne and his dream of building a family house that would last generations. The children were able to wander through, discover how life looked 130 years ago for the pioneers and interact with different parts of the house. The children certainly had a lot of chores and responsibilities back then!

We also spent some time at the Wanneroo Museum which has some fascinating artefacts from Noongar history, colonisation of the area, domestic life and leisure time. It is quite an interactive display and the children enjoyed their time there. I must say, they were all very well behaved and on their best behaviours.

Poseidon and Quinns Beach both had their faction sports carnivals on the same day Friday 3rd September. I could only be at one of them, so spent the day at Quinns Beach. Once again, it was a lovely, dry day and the children had a fantastic time.

Enjoy the holidays and I hope we get some sunshine!
