East Hamersley Campus Kindy
We have been having lots of fun at East Hamersley kindy learning all about insects. We were so excited to be able to have the playdough back in our class rooms and create playdough insects with lots of legs and antenna. We used our fine motor skills to thread a spider web and put a friendly spider in with googly eyes as well as cutting colouring and putting black sticker dots on lady bugs. We love playing together at kindy and sharing the insects while making houses for them with the blocks.
Padbury Campus – Kindy A
Kindy at Padbury is such a blast. First of all, we had our very first sports carnival, which was such a fun day for us. We did a running race and played lots of team games in our factions.
Back in our classroom we have been learning all about different types of insects. We had fun making snails and practising our fine motor skills. When Miss Lenzo come into our class, we have been practising using the pronouns ‘he and she’. We have been using our puppets Amy and Billy to practise these words and incorporating our insect knowledge as well. For example, when Billy gets a butterfly we can say ‘He has a butterfly’. We really love learning about insects in class and have been having so much fun exploring the insects on our garden table with our magnifying glasses.
Quinns Beach Campus – Kindy A
Kindy A had the privilege of joining the rest of the school for a fun Book Week Parade. Our Doctor and Very Hungry Caterpillar won book awards for their amazing costumes.
This term we have been learning about Ocean Animals. We are learning to retell the story of The Rainbow Fish and use lots of language to describe and sort different ocean animals. We have turned our home-corner into a beach and the students are enjoying collecting shells and climbing aboard the boat to role-play going fishing.
